 SST Shear
By combining HACO's long experience in shearing machines and state of the art technology throughout the design, the SST range of shears maintain consistent performance under a wide range of conditions. The Swing-Beam movement of the cutting beam under a low rake angle ensures optimum quality of the cut and minimises the distortion of the sheet, even when cutting narrow strips. This results in less wear on the cutting blades, as the blades will make contact at one point only.
The down stroke beam movement is produced by hydraulic pressure, the return by nitrogen pressure. This simple working principle and the lack of wear sensitive guidings result in a virtually maintenance free machine. The high rigidity solid frame is of welded steel construction and ensures high stability, precision and long-term reliability. The shears provide complete overload protection. The backgauge which follows the rotary movement of the cutting beam, assures an optimum sheet removal.
Rapid and precise blade clearance adjustment by single handle on the side frame. This economical, maintenance-friendly machine offers the operator a precise cut at high working speed.
Standard
- All operating functions of the machine are centrally located in the SP8 control panel at the left hand side of the machine. It is integrated into the electrical cabinet with 45° view angle towards the operator.
- Hydraulic motor-pump group, arranged in the front under the table of the machine, leaving the rear completely free for easy removal of cut material.
- Motorised backgauge, AC-driven - with automatic swing-up at stroke-end to allow longer sheets to be cut.

Options
SC70 control
HSL executed with the optional SC70 control is called HSLX.
Basic features of the SC70 control :
- LCD screen with 16 lines of 26 characters.
- Memory capacity : max 200 programs with max. 400 steps max 127 steps per program. material list of max. 32 materials
- Each program contains the basic cutting parameters such as material type, material thickness, blade gap and cutting angle setting
- Electro-hydraulic blade gap setting by 2 cylinders.
- Stroke control adjustment.
- Automatic programmable retraction of the back gauge.
- Possibility of motorized adjustment of the back gauge position by 2 push-buttons.
- Backlash compensation.
- Mode selection Inch-Metric.
Programming modes :
- Semi-automatic : By entering the sheet thickness for mild steel, the control automatically sets the blade gap and the cutting angle as a function of the sheet thickness. All parameters can be manually modified according to the actual data.
- Manual : All cutting parameters such as material type, sheet thickness, cutting angle and blade gap are programmed manually.

Features
Swinging Action
- Precision guidance of the beam.
- Reliable and maintenance free due to fewer moving parts.
- The Swing-Beam action and the use of over-dimensioned roller bearings at the pivots, guarantees the precision of the blade clearance setting.
- Further adjustments due to wear is eliminated.
- No slideways to grease and adjust, and therefore less wear.
- The geometrical relationship of the backstop and the cutting blade allows the material to drop freely away without jamming.
- The bottom blade has 4 cutting edges whereas the upper blade has two cutting edges.
Swing-up Backgauge
All SST-machines have as standard a swing-up backgauge. At the end of it's reverse stroke, the backstop automatically swings upwards to allow longer sheets to be cut. The position, once selected, remains unchanged even during continuous operation. The geometrical relationship of the backstop to the upper cutting blade frees the plate at the instant of shearing. The material drops freely without jamming.

The SP8 preselection control offers the following functions :
- positioning of the backgauge to the preselected position
- digital read-out of the actual position
- cutting angle setting with digital read-out
- stroke control (cutting length regulation)
- selection for backgauge retraction
- stroke counter and counter of working hours in the parameters.
